LPI Connect: Planned Transition Period to Support Data Migration

September 29, 2026

To ensure a smooth transition to LPI Connect, online services for Livestock Price Insurance (LPI) will be unavailable from October 5 to 19.

October 5-19: No online purchases or claims

  • Neither clients nor team members will have access to the existing LPI portal. Therefore, no online purchases or claims can be completed during this time.
  • Clients wanting to purchase coverage or settle a policy will need to complete paper applications during this period. Forms can be found here or through your local LPI representative.
  • Paper applications must be reviewed by branch team members to ensure they are complete, and all information has been gathered. They will be held for entry once the new system is available.
  • Transactions are considered received on the date the completed paper form is submitted.
  • Forms may be submitted in person at your preferred branch office, by fax or by email.
  • Policy purchases and settlement claims will be processed per the date the paperwork was submitted when the processing occurs after go-live.

**AFSC Clients can continue to access their own AFSC Connect online accounts (for business other than LPI); however, they will not be able to create an LPI based online transaction.

October 19: LPI Connect is live

  • All clients, team members, and provincial partners will begin using LPI Connect.
  • Any paper transactions collected during the conversion period will need to be entered and processed into the new system.

Delay in indemnity payments

Clients in an indemnity position should be aware that claim payments may be temporarily delayed during the migration period.

  • Payments requiring processing during the system conversion will be held until LPI Connect becomes available.
  • Current expectations are that these delayed payments will be processed following go-live, with payment activity beginning during the week of October 26.
  • This delay is related solely to the system transition and does not affect claim eligibility or settlement calculations.
  • All claims will be paid matching their settlement date/expiry date and the delayed date will have no bearing on their settlement price, nor will there be exceptions to the claim window for policies being open on Mondays only.

Minimal impact on existing users

Existing users will continue to use their current account credentials in the new system. No action is required at this time, and additional launch information will be provided before go-live.
